Anyway, Resonance of Fate is a very strange game.

This one was actually re-released on Steam and PS4 quite recently, so there is hope yet. Chaos Legion isn't high art, yet its robust combat system and the fun ways to utilize your different Legions makes for a really enjoyable adventure. Back in the day, critics lamented that with roughly five hours of gameplay, it's on the shorter side, personally I spent far more time with it, even in a single playthrough. The story might seem a bit barebones (yet strangely complicated) early on but it all leads to a satisfying conclusion. These come in various forms with a wide range of different abilities and using them in combat is great fun.
You play as Sieg Wahrheit, a so-called Legionator who is able to summon Chaos Legions to aid him in battle. Anyway, Chaos Legion is a hack & slay action game with light RPG elements and some very interesting squad-combat added into the mix. I'm not a huge fan of Devil May Cry, though, so that's perhaps part of why. Lambasted as a Devil May Cry-rip-off, Chaos Legion was savaged by critics back in the day. The story is quite nice as well, so if this sounds interesting to you, give it a try. Also on the gameplay-side, it is a lot more shallow than XCOM: Enemy Unknown. Finding out who the traitor for any given level (there are multiple ones) is isn't really challenging and their traitorous behavior doesn't amount to very much. If that sounds cool, be warned that the game utilizes these elements ever so slightly. You are part of a squad of highly trained (and supernaturally gifted) individuals who enter a strange tower to bring down a terrorist threatening the world, yet there are traitors on your team and through some deductive reasoning and the use of your supernatural abilities, you have to find out whom you can trust and whom you can't. When I first heard about the game, I thought to myself "Hey, that sounds like a mixture between XCOM: Enemy Unknown and The Resistance.
